Alexx Calise – Amazing New Artist
by Todd on Jul.22, 2010, under Music/Artist Review
I had the opportunity to listen to a great new CD the other day. The artist is Alexx Calise and her new album “In Avanti” is in a word Amazing! Her music is in heavy rotation right now on several MTV/VH1 reality programs and has been featured in such magazines as Guitar World, Singer and Musician, and Blender. Alexx is no stranger to the road either, having toured pretty much all over the U.S. already while promoting her first album Morning Pill. So if you don’t know her work yet, this sophomore album will surely supplant her as one of the top Female acts.
The whole album has a solid synth rock sound with great lyrics. The lead single “Break Me” has great radio quality and isn’t even the best song on the CD. The album was produced by Grammy-nominated producer, Luigie Gonzalez. At first glance you might see a “rocker chick” and compare her to Orianthi, but Alexx has talent that makes her so much more. Her sound has an amazing rock edge but will also play perfectly in mainstream radio. What makes her better as an artist is the lyrics and how well they fit with the music. I can actually hear a story in the songs. The tracks almost play a small movie inside your head because the words flow so perfectly. I would highly recommend this album and you can pick it up from her site. www.alexxcalise.net. You can also listen to or pick up her previous album “Morning Pill” on Amazon MP3 by clicking here.

Original Release Date: October 26, 2009
Release Date: October 26, 2009
Label: Geffen
Copyright: (C) 2009 Geffen Records
Genres: Pop/General
Orianthi Panagaris - (Orianthi) is an Australian born female rocker. She is more currently know as one of the lead guitarist from Michael Jackson‘s lost tour “This is It”. She has been in the spot light since she was 15 doing duets with such artist such as Steve Vai and Santana. With the 80′s/90′s in voig not only in fashion bur also in culture; Orianthi fills the Lita Ford void. The lead single “According to You” has very well on iTunes and Amazon. The album is a great rock pop album with really great guitar riffs. Watching her in the “This is It” documentary she seems a little harder of a rocker than the album shows. Some of the songs in the album actually have an underling southern rock feel. The song “Think Like A Man” has more of the sound her style would be. The song has a really great driving rock sound with the solos laid on top. The album is a good buy for any one who enjoys rock/pop.
